The AYL AA season will consist of 14 league games plus a double elimination playoff, for a total of 16 games played April through June. The season will end in Mid June with the World Series play at the end of June, early July.
All teams at age 6 and up will play at the "AA" level.
A modified coach pitch will be played at the 8 years old, "AA" level; there is not a coach pitch division at this age level.
Ages 9 through 13/14 all teams may be AA National or AA American, American being the higher level of competition. Divisions may be broken down into East and West depending on the final number of teams.
League games will be played on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday beginning early April, and will be concluded Mid June. Teams will normally play two (2) games per week, but may play three (3) if needed. League games will not be scheduled on Easter Sunday, Spring Break week, or Memorial Day weekend. Please note: games WILL be played on Mother’s Day. In the event of game cancelations, makeup games WILL be played at the discretion of the AYL Baseball Board. That may require a weekday game.
At the conclusion of the 14 league games, ALL TEAMS will be seeded for the double elimination playoffs. Teams will play until they have lost two (2) games. Playoff games will begin Mid June with the World Series played late June at (TBD). Note: All seeding is done by the AYL baseball board.
The World Series will be a single game championship game. Therefore, the undefeated team representing the winner’s bracket in the World Series game does not need to lose twice to be eliminated.
